Do you need legal information, are you experiencing a problematic situation at work, are your rights not being respected? Read on!
Created in 2008, Justice Pro Bono is a Quebec organization that promotes access to justice for people who do not have the necessary resources to access legal services.
As part of the Temporary Foreign Worker Support Program, Justice Pro Bono runs a project funded by the Government of Canada. The agency provides free legal information and assistance to meet the needs of temporary foreign workers with closed work permits.
As of March 2023, Justice Pro Bono has a phone line (+1 866 999-4881) and a WhatsApp line (+1 438 337-6002) to handle worker inquiries. Here’s what you need to know before contacting Justice Pro Bono:
– The phone lines are reserved for temporary foreign workers with closed work permits. If you have another status, please complete this form on the Justice Pro Bono website.
– The best way to contact the Justice Pro Bono team is to send them a detailed message on WhatsApp (full name, nationality, company you work for, situation you are living, etc.) including the following documents:
- Copy of the work contract
- Copy of work permit
- Copy of the Labor Market Impact Assessment (LMI)
- Pay stub, if you deem it necessary
- Any document you deem relevant to your situation
– If you choose to communicate via phone call, please leave a detailed message on the voicemail. Otherwise, your call will not be returned.
Justice Pro Bono receives a considerable number of calls and messages and does its best to respond to all inquiries.
This project is funded by the Government of Canada.
